Getting started scanning a car body with the Metro Y Pro

Has anyone done a good tutorial video on how to setup the software for scanning large objects without markers? I see videos of people scanning big things but never any info on how they got it to work. I tried scanning a hood that is covered in chalky white primer and body filler.

When I first start scanning the first 6” look great. As soon as I start moving it goes downhill. If I move back and try again it doesn’t recognize what it’s scanned and makes it look like there’s 3 corners of a hood stacked on top of each other haha.

This scanner type require a features at least every 8-10 cm apart and visible in the FOV at all time for tracking when using Full Field.
So you need to use markers and marker mode.

Laser mode required markers at any time

You need markers and a lot of it to scan a hood. There is no other way around .

Revopoint Trackit scanner DK not require markers and van scan big objects regardless of it’s features .

Any other scanners sadly require features or markers .
