Feature request: Single-line laser mode for scanning deep holes on Revopoint MetroX

Hello Revopoint team,

I would like to suggest a very useful feature for the Revopoint MetroX scanner:

Please consider adding a single-line laser scanning mode for scanning holes, deep cavities, and narrow internal features.

At the moment, this kind of geometry can be difficult to capture efficiently with the current laser modes, especially when scanning deeper holes or more confined areas. A single-line laser mode could help improve access into narrow spaces and make it easier to capture internal geometry with better control.

I believe this would be a very valuable improvement not only for me, but for many other users as well, especially those working with:

  • technical parts

  • reverse engineering

  • inspection of drilled or machined components

  • parts with internal features and narrow openings

In my opinion, this feature could make the MetroX even more attractive for professional and industrial use. I also believe that many potential customers would appreciate this capability, and for some people it could even be an important reason to choose and purchase the scanner.

Thank you for considering this request. I think a lot of users would highly appreciate this improvement.

They have already done that and named it MetroY.

Hi @Spejhle

The hardware of MetroX scanner can’t be updated as that would require physical upgrade and that’s impossible.

The newest series of MetroY and MetroY pro include additional cross like and single line mode as well.
