3D video (4D scanning)

Can it be possible in the future that 3D scanners become so fast that they can work as 3D video camera’s (4D)?
So i can film someone’s feet while walking, and catch all the shape shifts/deformations of the feet during a step in 3D.
Most simple start would be to film the foot from under a glass plate where the foot stands on during the landing phase untill toe- off.
I think that could lead to a much better understanding of what happens during gait, improved insole design and better (individual) footwear.
Having the foot scanned all around in 4D?Having the complete body in 4D?
Will this stay SciFi forever, or could it become reality?
Anyone any thoughts?
