Teaching with MetroYPro

Last big company i worked for the project was named deathstar but we were told to change it because we are not allowed death in a project name (that was the death of fun)

I’m very impressed with these scans.

I purchased a MetroYPro recently, (my third scanner) and keeping the performance of this scanner in perspective by what’s shown with these scans, the MetroYPro performance would be untouchable by any scanner under ten thousand dollars a few years ago. Is it a perfect scanner? Perhaps not, buy wow have scanning performance improved in such a short time. Rvopoint has built a great Mid-Grade scanner.

Thanks for sharing!!

You know any product/project called ā€œDark Starā€ was originally Death Star. Only problem with a project called the Death Star is the 2 meter exhaust port…

Hello Forum, I have been trying to get a demo on site (our factory) for this specific equipment (MetroY Pro) but Revo staff told me they don’t do that, its recomendation is contact people through this forum and that’s why I’m here, seeing the equipment specs the equipment should be capable to measure our plastic molded parts but before moving forward with the purchase we’ld like to know if somebody has measure plastic parts with dimensions from .150 to .500 thousandths of an inch or if somebody in USA (California) or Mexico can provide us a Demo of the equipment with our parts?

Thanks

Honestly, just purchase a scanner from Amazon and give it a go. If it does not work for your specific application, Amazon will allow you to return the scanner within 30 days. I don’t know exactly what you are trying to scan, but I would stick the the laser scanner models –MetroY or Track it–for best accuracy.

Hi @mmendez the Revopoint scanners accuracy is too low , you need an Artec scanner with at least 0.01 mm accuracy but the costs can be around $21K however you can rent one for a day and try out before you buy , forget about Revopoint scanners, not good enough for that job.

Thanks for your replay, the parts we want to measure are small plastic gears or base nozzles

Thanks for your quick response, I’ll go deeper on the Artec 3D scanner because $21k for 0.01 mm accuracy really worth it and that means it will work perfect with our small parts.
