We’re back with another deep dive into the scanning capabilities of the Revopoint Trackit 3D Scanner—this time tackling something essential for precise measurements and thread identification: a Metric and Standard Nut and Bolt Gauge!
Keep in mind a simple mesh slice sketch slice was used so messurements could be between or overlapping the OD and Thread ID, but for demo purposes is Dang good 
Precision Meets Versatility
While scanning large, complex objects like car fenders and engines is exciting, capturing small, detailed items like a nut and bolt gauge presents unique challenges. The Trackit scanner, equipped with advanced optical tracking and blue laser scanning technology, once again delivers high-resolution scans with incredible accuracy.
This scan allowed us to test the scanner’s ability to handle various thread sizes and fine surface details, ensuring that every ridge, groove, and marking is captured perfectly. These gauges are crucial for identifying fastener specifications, and a highly detailed scan means precise digital measurements that can be referenced later for design, machining, or replacement parts.

Fine Detail Capture – The Trackit’s laser scanning system accurately picked up the small grooves and threading, ensuring no detail was lost in the process.
