Use adaptor for pop scanner?

Hi, friends,
1 : I want to use my pop scanner with WiFi, and my question is if I connect the scanner to the
5V2A phone adaptor, this wont any harm to pop in long-term ?

2 : What’s the safe voltage amp for the scanner?

Hi @ali

Good question!

  1. No, it won’t harm to POP in long-term;
  2. The safe voltage range for POP is 4.8-5.3V;

Generally speaking, a circuit will only draw as much amperage as it needs. So you can power a .5A circuit with a 20A power supply. The voltage however is a very important question. As was pointed out by Revopoint3D-Cassie, the POP range is 4.8-5.3V which is the USB standard. So generally speaking, if you can plug it in via USB, it will work as long as it has a minimum amperage to power the circuit.

Yes, thank you so much for your explanation. It is much clearer now. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What about using 5 v 500 mA adapter is it harmful

That would not supply enough amperage. Device needs at least 2A (2000mA).
