# Revo Mirror on macOS Not Launching

Hi! New Inspire 2 user. Trying to use the WiFi capabilities with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and MacBook Pro M1. Installed Revo Metro and Revo Mirror on the MacBook, only Revo Mirror on the iPhone.

When I click on the Mirroring icon in Metro, the Revo Mirror app starts to load, the splash screen shows up, then just disappears and will not work or connect to my iPhone.

Go into Mirror on my phone and it wants me to create a connection using IP instead of seeing my MacBook.

What gives?

Hi @chadbrochills

RevoMirror currently doesn’t support the Tahoe, so there will be connections issue .

Please check the compatibility first

Well, that’s a bummer, I’m on Tahoe 26.3, considering that was a big selling point. Any idea of when it will be supported? Might have to return this thing if it’s going to be put off for a long time.

I will have to ask the Dev team how long it will take to make it works , I will let you know ASAP.

Inspire 2 is working standalone on iPhone using RevoScan5 but only Full Field mode is available ( not powerful enough to support IR laser mode)

i bought my scanner and a macbook air to work wirelessly.. a bit disappointed… when will the fix be available

As I said already above your post by the end of the month begining of June .

Revo Mirror software specification stated that certain systems are not supported yet , it should not be a surprise to trigger anything . The team is working hard to make it available soon.

I just checked and it was not yet updated as planned early probably it did not passed the final bug test., the office is closed until August the second due to heat wave , so until then I have no access to any direct info.

# macOS Tahoe 26.6 – RevoMirror Authentication and Pairing Issues (Workaround)

Hi everyone,

After spending several hours troubleshooting RevoMirror on macOS Tahoe 26.6, I managed to get it working. I hope this information helps other users experiencing the same issues.

## Issue 1 – Authentication (“Host requires authentication”)

RevoMirror closed immediately after launch.

Running RevoMirror from Terminal showed the following error:

```bash
HttpManager::initHttpUser false, error info "Host requires authentication"

```

It appears that the problem is related to the API authentication between RevoMirror and Sunshine.

Sunshine stores its own API username and password. If these credentials already exist, RevoMirror attempts to create its own credentials but cannot authenticate correctly because another set already exists.

As a result, RevoMirror exits during startup.

## How to verify the issue

Run RevoMirror from Terminal:

```bash
/Applications/RevoMirror.app/Contents/MacOS/RevoMirror

```

If you see:

```plaintext
HttpManager::initHttpUser false, error info "Host requires authentication"

```

then the issue is related to Sunshine API authentication.

## Workaround

Close both applications:

```bash
pkill -f RevoMirror
pkill -f '/Applications/Sunshine.app/Contents/MacOS/Sunshine'

```

Remove only the Sunshine API credentials (this keeps all paired devices):

```bash
python3 - <<'PY'
import json, os

p=os.path.expanduser("~/.config/sunshine/sunshine_state.json")

with open(p) as f:
    d=json.load(f)

d.pop("username", None)
d.pop("password", None)
d.pop("salt", None)

with open(p,"w") as f:
    json.dump(d,f,indent=4)

print("Sunshine API credentials removed.")
PY

```

Start Sunshine:

```bash
open /Applications/Sunshine.app

```

Then start RevoMirror:

```bash
/Applications/RevoMirror.app/Contents/MacOS/RevoMirror

```

RevoMirror should automatically create a new API username and password inside Sunshine.

# Issue 2 – PIN dialog never appears

After fixing the authentication issue, another problem appeared.

The iPhone displayed a pairing PIN, but RevoMirror on macOS never displayed the PIN entry dialog.

Because of this, the pairing process could not be completed from within RevoMirror.

## Workaround

Pair the iPhone directly in Sunshine instead of waiting for the RevoMirror PIN dialog.

Once the device has been authorized in Sunshine, RevoMirror detects it correctly and the PIN is no longer required.

## Summary

These two workarounds solved the problem completely for me:

1. Reset the Sunshine API credentials so RevoMirror can recreate them automatically.
2. If the PIN dialog never appears, pair the iPhone directly in Sunshine.

After performing these two steps, RevoMirror worked normally on macOS Tahoe 26.6.

Hopefully this helps someone else experiencing the same issues.

I’ve also met the crashes on my **Windows 11** when I first use in **April** , which the **QT program** issue, and sent **the crash full memory dump file** (with full stack) to the support in wechat group but no further response of tech info.  
Also submit on website of this issue in windows but no response.  
Today I still found there is 2025 year version without update.
