Revo Metro + Metroy Ultra - CPU frame rate actively limited?

Doing some testing I see strange things happening:

  1. The indicated frame rate in the software is always around 90fps in GPU and CPU mode
  2. Frame count captured in a timed 60s scan test is pretty much spot on 90fps in GPU mode and always 60fps in CPU mode
  3. Further testing in CPU mode (7950x), halving core clocks, disabling half of the cores - still exactly 60fps

It very much seems the CPU could easily handle 90fps but the Metro software forces 60fps because hard coded and not because the CPU couldn’t handle more.

Also the software always indicating 90fps and not the actually processed frame rate is “strange” at least.

I would appreciate some clarification - I would really hate to have an extra Nvidia GPU in the machine JUST because of an arbitrary hard coded limit in CPU mode.

Thank you.

Edit: Tests were in laser mode cross line.

CPU acceleration i9 14Th Gen

GPU acceleration RTX 4060 8GG

On my system there are not limitations and both works at the same speed, the Intel CPU have slightly advantage here for obvious reason and that has nothing to do with limitations on purpose. GPU or CPU acceleration in laser mode can be compared to playing a videogame in real time while scanning and nothing to do with the viewport , it is more of a background process .

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately not very helpful.

You ignored pretty much everything I wrote and answered absolutely nothing at all.

I really do not need technical assistance but a technical answer that addresses what I asked and pointed out.
