# POP4 outershell is weak and prone to cracking

Hello,

I just unpacked my scanner to do a test run, and to my surprise I found a crack at the underside of the scanner near the mounting screw hole.

Since this is, at least to me, an expensive device, I always treat it with care and pack it away carefully, but it still shows a crack. That suggests to me the outer shell it not really withstanding the forces exerted onto the screw hole when mounting in on a tripod or the battery handgrip. And no, I’m not overtightening or using it daily either.

Maybe something for RevoPoint to have a look at and see it could use some strengthening.
