POP4 laptop advice!

Hi to all!

Now I have two revopoint products, the Miraco and the POP4. Now I am focus on the POP4. It works smoothly with my desktop but I would like to buy a new laptop for my workshop and for beeing able to use the pop4 outside my workshop. Any advice about a “cheap” laptop? (a precise model number will be great). I am a bit lost. I see nice intel and AMD processors (but newer does not mean faster always), nice graphics cards (again bigger nunmbers does not mean better) but I discover thinks like the TPD power of RTX cards… and so on. I know that if I spend 1.5 k€ the lattop will work great with the pop4 but I would like to find somethink below the 1k€ limit with guaratee that I can scan outside with laptop battery and laser lines of the pop4.

For example… I have dubts between AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX and AI7 350. Which one is better for POP4? And for a long term computer?

Thanks in advice for your help and advice

Hi @Javi074

Make sure the CPU is at least i9 14th Gen and RTX at least 406O 8GB ( more means not better ) and I truly recommend 64GB of RAM if your budged allows it.

Intel CPU is right now the fastest since the software is CPU based and all processing go through CPU .

RTX only used to scanning using Laser mode and to process 3DGS models .

Thanks for the advice… but AMD Ryzen 9 is better than minimum specs. I have the chance to get an HP OMEN 16 with an Ryzen 9 8940HX and a RTX 5060 with 8 GB and a total of 32 GB of ram memoery. Does anyone tested a laptop with this processor with revoscan 6 and POP4? My aim is to be able to scan with 5 scanning modes anywhere and later process meshes in my desktop computer.

Hi @Javi074

You will be able to scan and process all scans with that specifications , it will be not optimal but workable.
