POP Connection on PC

I cant seem to get my connection to my PC to stay connected loner than 10 seconds without disconnecting, and then connecting back and forth. I cant even get a single scan in period. I just bought this and received it yesterday. My HP is to spec with this device, but i dont know why Handy Scan wont stay connected. could i get some input on what to do to resolve this issue? thanks.

Hi @Jparson79

A POP may be connecting and disconnecting because of the below reasons:

  1. The power supply is not enough. Since the power consumption of POP is 5V 1A, you need to plug the POP into a USB 3.0 port. Some laptops claimed the USB3.0 port. However, it does not reach the USB3.0 standard. If so, POP will be disconnected after several seconds.
  2. You need to confirm if you permit Handy Scan to access your camera. We have a tutorial post in the forum: [Tips] Remember to check the camera permission of your PC

Try powering the POP with a power supply that is external to the computer or phone (unless you have the mobile kit, this will entail using Hotspot). The power supply should be rated for 10 or 15 watts; that will be more than enough power to run without interruption. In the USA, these units can be had on eBay for well under US$10, including shipping, if it is inconvenient to get to a local store.

good afternoon,
I’ve went through all areas of camera permissions on my Windows 10 settings. I’ve made sure that the ports i’m using is usb 3.0. I’ve bought a USB3.0 5V 4A power separator. I cant get this thing to stay connected long enough to get one single scan in still. This alot of money to waste on an device that i cant even get to respond at least once. Please let me know if there is any other solution, PLEASE!!

How are you using the scanner?

Are you on a laptop?
Is the scanner connected directly to the PC via the usb cable or through a network or hotspot connection?
Are there any other programs running on the PC at the same time?

Any other information might help as well.

Hi @Jparson79 ,

I’m using my laptop to connect to the scanner. i didn’t check to see if I had other programs running in the background. other than that, I’ve tried almost everything to get this scanner to stay connected, but nothing seems to work.
