Now Im really starting to regret my purchase!

First, the POP4 refused to work on any of my current system (Windows wasn’t equipped with the right videocard á ca. 250$, not on my Macbook with 32 Gb memory because that wasn’t the right CPU, and the iPhone software would come later but would be restricted due to logic reasons.)

Leaving me not much choice other then find some fundings to buy at least a system I could use my new scanner, so now I’m out an additional $700 to be able to use the scanner … still only partially I just found out because you people still don’t have the mirror software in order for Tahoe!!!

So to say I’m disappointed is the very least you might call the feelings I have on Revopoints great new scanner!

Hi @Benji

So you know the computer specifications that are needed , if you have good CPU you don’t need additional graphic card at least for Lasers mode because the other modes works fine on my old windows tablet , so what is the Windows system you talking here about ? Specifically the CPU ?

If it is i7 8th Gen you can only use Full Field, if you have i7 13th Gen you are ok for the 3 modes and maybe slow Lasers mode . So definitely graphic card required for laser mode at least 3050-4060

Android app runs only 3 modes , and Revo Mirror require full system to run as it harvest the power of your system and not your phone so neither your Win or MAC will be usable .

To be honest, Revopoint offers one of the best cost/performance ratios among all the brands on my list.

The only area where I feel it falls behind is software development — for example, it still lacks native Apple Silicon (Mac M-series) support, unlike some competitors. That said, requiring an NVIDIA card seems to be pretty much mandatory for any serious laser scanner brand right now.

Bought myself a 2020 MacBook with sufficient specs to run all options, only to find out the Mirror option … not so much. But hee, it works and I can finally start learning 3D scanning! So now I’m a little less sad again with my new toy!

Hi @kkula9999

Revopoint is working not only on the native Apple app but also on a new software supporting ADM graphic cards and not just Nvidia.

I actually don’t even use my Nvidia card as my CPU scans at the same speed anyway when using Laser mode . So beside 3DGS it is not really requirement anymore .but rather a choice.

The Mirror app will be updated soon so you can use it as well , if I remember good middle July .

Looking forward to see your progress !

I’ve been having a lot of frustration with it as well

My PC definitely has the right specs but the scanner only works once from a fresh reboot, if I close RevoScan after the first use it will no longer work, giving me “license not detected” whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean

I can’t get it to work on either of my smartphones, and my laptop just doesn’t have the specs to work with it

I’m mulling over whether I should just cut my losses and sell it or if I should get a laptop that would work with it, because even IF it worked on my PC, I would be tethered 6ft or kneecapped by my limited wireless setup

It’s especially frustrating, because the scanning portion isn’t bad and the POP4 seems to provide the level of detail I was looking for in a scanner, but you can’t win them all I guess

This means the scanner is not detected , I will check up with the team regarding this issue

Don’t give up, I now can start learning to use it and it really seems like fun (bought me a M1 MacBook just to get here) … now its just waiting for the know how for me …

Hi @cmayk

Make sure you update to the new version of Revo Scan 6.2.3 Win , if you have issues with activation send your POP 4 serial number to customer@revopoint3d.com and request offline activation files , after that you can manually activate it on your computer.
