Thank you for the comparison, @PUTV if you see how the other scanner can have the floor easily removed, this is the feature that I was asking about, which will extremely help the workflow.

@Proschi3D I will be sure to subscribe to you, I’ve been only seeing Payo videos, can’t find many who do comparisons, and I guess your way is more accurate.

I will do more tests. I scanned my daughter’s clarinet with both scanners, and the MetroY Pro is clearly the better scanner

Yes, it is with the Revo metro software, and the full reversal works much faster. In addition, competitor software must always be cleaned up twice. This is extremely annoying.
It would make sense to use markers to align, or to merge multiple scans

maybe in this instance, but it would be a great addition to have the ability to create a plane and offset in + or - to be able to get a pretty clean cut so you can get rid of the floor if whatever object you scan cannot be supported above the plane (which is the faster method).

I am comparing to a different competitor not this one, but since it was shown here I used the opportunity to mention it.

Will be waiting eagerly for those videos, and I would love to know your opinion on the difference between meshing in both softwares, I never used the software you showed, only metro scan for the trackit, but I have a different scanner that has software leaps better than metro scan, and not because the other scanner is in a different league, they have the same software even for their lower end scanner that cost around the same, which is making me not eager to get the metro y now, whenever I mesh, the results aren’t as great and sometimes the software decided to remove parts of the scan when fusing unlike the other software.

I know what you mean.
I had a scanner at work a few weeks ago where the software worked like that too.
Three markers on the floor are enough to remove it using a custom offset.
This is solved miserably on the competitor. It often works poorly. You also still have to clean it up afterwards anyway.
It is faster in the Revo software with the tools available there.

**The S1 Mesh looks very artificial. I think the raw data is extremely smoothed and distorted. Which would also explain the inaccuracy.**

Here is the video in advance, it is not completely finished yet.

Hi @binadhed

I know what plane you talking about , the problem is that the scan can’t change it’s original position while it is in point cloud format as that would interrupt the rest of the processing , the software is created this way and changing everything will not be an option here according to R&D.

Revo software have an option to not scan the plane in real time and all other removal tools that will take the same amount of time to get rid of it and very easy too.
Revopoint avoid coping ideas from other software as that could trigger a lawsuit that the other companies go through already by doing exactly the same.

@Proschi3D

Also reminder about the forum TOS , we don’t focus in our community about other companies products that are in competition with Revopoint products. Please keep it discreet.

Greetings, I would really like to see in your performance a comparison in laser mode and the details of the coin. as far as I understand, Metro has no gain in detail in the mode of cross and parallel lines, while the other scanner has a difference. I would like to understand how big the difference is.

Different modes are created for a specific objects to be used with , and not for different level of details. The Sensors are responsible for the maximum details and accuracy of the scans regardless of the mode being used, and not because of the amount of the laser lines. However parallel mode can improve the details on a specific object but that would depends on the object details .

That’s why I’m asking for a comparison. and I also want to look at the coin, it’s a good visual test. I understand perfectly well that the automatic turntable mode here will give the best result, but it is the laser mode and the coin, the usual size of the 2 euro type, that are interested in.

The 2 euro may be not ideal , it has a very fine relief , it could’ve only be scanned using laser modes , as Auto will require 3D spray that will kill the five details completely, so yes you can go with laser mode .

Both scanners are the same in laser modes. The MetroY Pro is significantly faster in parallel lines, as it accommodates a larger area there due to the number of laser lines. The advantage of parallel lines, in my experience, are rounding, and deepening. The MetroY does this very well compared to the other scanner.
If you watch the video, you’ll see that the MetroY gets into the small details of the clarinet much better, and also creates a much more natural surface.

This is very subjective until you make a head-on comparison of fine detail with the minimum possible distance between the points at fusion, 0.02mm as far as I understand.

</div>

0.02mm is absolutely not necessary for this object. And where the scanner doesn’t pick up anything at all, the software won’t conjure up anything, even at 0.02mm. Where there are no data, there is no net.

metroY is required to see the coin, 0.02 is only in order to get the maximum, but most likely there will be a lot of noise and 0.05 will be more preferable. try it, at least the competitor S1 is not bad at scanning coins, which is what metroY is capable of, that’s where the question is.

That’s how much the laser mode can capture regarding coins , the fusing here is just resolution and for laser scanning point distance is 0.10 mm what compares to Full Field of 0.03-0.02mm , Most important here is the general sensors accuracy .

That’s my testing coin , only Mini 2, Trackit and Metro series can pass it , and best results is with MetroY Pro

Until now, there hasn’t been an object I’ve scanned where I’ve even come close to the fullness that the other person does better. On the contrary, in terms of accuracy and details, even speed, there has always been only one winner.
